Flight Rising Kickstarter Campaign is now Live!
The time is finally here! The next stage of Flight Rising's launch plans have now begun, and our Kickstarter Campaign is off and running! The fundraising campaign will be running until April 9th, 2013 11:00PM EST, so you have plenty of time to jump in and participate (and we hope you do!)
Flight Rising's Kickstarter campaign will be helping fund an upgrade to our hosting server, as well as support the current and ongoing development of the site's content.
We have tons of special goodies lined up for those who donate, so please check 'em out! We appreciate any and all support you guys provide. Thank you!

Beta Key Give-a-Way OpportuntiesFlight Rising will be entering closed beta in mid-December this year. If you didn't enter the Something about dragons contest but still want to participate in beta, we're going to be making keys available through our various social media groups over the coming weeks.
We recently ran a give-a-way on our facebook page, and have one that's currently going on one of our youtube videos. We'll be releasing keys to all of our Flight Rising pages, including the deviantart group, so keep your eyes peeled.
I should note that beta is a test, and not a head start. We are running a beta so that we can get early feedback, make tweaks to the economy of the game and balance of the coliseum, make changes to help make our site easy to pick up for a new user, and uncover errors and glitches in the website. Feature: Familiar BondingThe development team has been hard at work on creating and implementing new features, and we'd like to debut one of them today called Familiar Bonding!
This system allows you to visit your attached familiars each day to increase their familiarity (heh) with you, and earn daily rewards. We feel this system will be attractive to players who love collecting familiars, but would like a little bit more of a progression style of gameplay.
Familiars have several levels of attachment to your clan, however, we would like to keep those levels a bit of a surprise, so we won't be listing them here. Visiting a familiar each day will provide you with a small sum of treasure, and if your familiar reaches a new level, they will give you an extra special gift!
Each unique familiar type can be leveled once for your clan, and their progression will be saved (meaning, if you bonded with a Hedgehog for 30 days and leveled it up, removed it, and paired it with another dragon in your clan, its bonding

Feature: Dominance SystemFlight Rising is happy to debut a feature we have been working on behind the scenes for awhile: Flight Dominance! The Flight Dominance system is a way for the various elemental flights to compete against one another for weekly rewards.
Competing is simple: exalt dragons from your lair to send them to the front lines.
Exalted dragons contribute to your flight's army, and the flight with the most exaltations each Saturday will receive a week's worth of special benefits. These benefits are:
- An extra 250 treasure per day
- A 10% discount on all Marketplace merchandise (treasure shops only)
- A +1 boost to every stat of each of your dragons
You can track your flight's ranking live from the Flight Dominance page, which updates each page refresh. The left-side ladder displays how your flight is doing in the race for next week's tally. The right side image indicates which flight is holding dominance for the current week.

Beta is a test. There will be constant revisions, things breaking and being fixed and occasional downtime. You're going to be playing a game that's a work-in-progress, and should not be considered final. When we launch, all the dragons and wealth you accumulated during the beta will be wiped. We do have some beta-unique gifts line up as a thank you for helping us test, but otherwise you're on an even playing field with other players during launch.

If you want to keep things fresh and a surprise and don't want to lose your progress, we recommend waiting until official release. That being said, we do appreciate those who are willing to help us test the site. Your feedback is valuable and it will help us release a better game when we launch. The team is grateful for the interest and support we've received.

as much as i'd like to poke around early, it does sound like a better idea to simply wait and experience the rush of the game once beta testing ends. i'm sure it will be fantastic and to ensure it is i think the beta keys should go to people who will make the most of it to improve the site.

i'll gladly wait for when the site is finished ^^
